Ireland West Airport welcomes return of commercial flights after 160 days

Ireland West Airport Knock is braced for the return of commercial flights at the facility after 160 days.

A post on the airport's Facebook page stated: "Tomorrow we welcome three services back to the airport with Ryanair to and from Liverpool, London Stansted and London Luton.

"We hope after the longest period of closure in the airports 36 year history that these are the first small steps in a reopening of the aviation industry.

"We sincerely thank you for your continued support over the past 16 months.

"We can't wait to welcome you back to the airport when you're ready to fly and we look forward to families and friends reuniting once again."
