Mayo University Hospital facing new overcrowding problems

Up to 21 patients are being accommodated on trolleys at Mayo University Hospital (MUH) today due to overcrowding.

Thirteen are in the emergency department and eight are in wards elsewhere.

Nationally, 296 patents are awaiting hospital beds, according to today's INMO Trolley Watch.

Of those, 255 are in emergency departments with 42 in wards.

University Hospital Limerick has 44 patients on trolleys.
