€24,000 to support Mayo social enterprises start-ups

TWO Mayo social enterprises have been approved funding from the Social Enterprise Start-up Fund.

The fund supports early stage social enterprises to grow, create jobs and inspire the next generation of Irish social enterprises.

The projects approved in Mayo are Accelerating Change Together (ACT Studio) and the Edible Landscape Project (ELP).

Both will receive cash grants of €12,000 as well as a place on a special training programme that will provide training across strategic planning, financial management, governance, business modelling, pitching, and impact measurement, designed to help them further develop their businesses.

The fund will be administered by Rethink Ireland on behalf of the Department of Rural and Community Development.

Welcoming the allocations, Deputy Michael Ring commented: “I am delighted that these two Mayo projects have been selected as this funding should enable them to have the best impact on our communities.

“I want to wish those involved in both projects the very best for the future in the realisation of their goals.”
