Mayo community radio station granted another 100-day licence

Ballina Community Radio is back on the dial to liven up your weekends!

BCR FM's latest license will come into effect this Saturday, November 20, and will run until November 2022.

This will once again allow the station to broadcast on Saturdays and Sundays from 9.30 a.m. until 11 p.m. on 101.9fm throughout Ballina and its surrounding areas. The station will also continue to broadcast all shows online at www.bcrfm.ie and on smart speakers.

The station would like to acknowledge the continued support of local businesses in their sponsorship of show programming. Without the option to fundraise due to Covid-19, the overheads arising from running the station are being covered by sponsorship alone.

The financial support from sponsors has allowed BCR FM to sustain a strong and vibrant community radio station broadcasting locally in Ballina and to its diaspora across the world.

BCR FM is proud to announce four new additional presenters, each bringing their own unique style and talent to the airwaves, adding a new language show, music show and entertainment show to their schedule.

The new weekend schedule offers a mix of music shows, including country, rock, soul, folk and blues, west of Ireland artists, classical and all your favourites.

BCR FM is a non-profit station that is volunteer-led, and will be continuing its partnership with Mayo Northeast and its Tús initiative to provide short-term working opportunities.

The station continues to use its platform as a radio station to promote #shoplocal and #supportlocal. Be part of their work by participating in their radio shows (text or WhatsApp to 087-0969562) and tuning in to their broadcasts. You can follow them on social media through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. BCR FM looks forward to your active engagement during its 2021/2022 FM license period.
