Contract awarded for bridge on N17 at Claremorris

THE contract to construct a new bridge at Lisduff, Claremorris, has been awarded to BAM Ireland, Councillor Tom Connolly has been informed today.

The news has been confirmed by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).

Welcoming the awarding of the contract, Councillor Connolly said work will commence in early 2022. The bridge will open in 2023.

He commented: “This is welcome news for this area. I believe this work will be strongly welcomed by everyone in the locality.

“It will hopefully make this section of the road safer.”
