Sod-turning ceremony on site of new €8m. Mayo Aldi store

Aldi has begun construction of its new €8 million store in Ballina, located at Bury Street in the town

The new store will take approximately ten months to build with an estimated 30 new jobs to be created when the store opens in winter 2022.

A sod-turning ceremony has taken place at the site of the former Deanwood Hotel.

Aldi is continuing to expand its Mayo store network, with the Ballina store being Aldi’s fifth in the county.

Once completed, the store floor-space will stand at 1315 square metres and will be constructed in Aldi’s award-winning Project Fresh design, featuring 80 car parking spaces, four- electric vehicle charging stations and a bicycle stand unit.
