Mayo hurling team for Connacht Shield final announced

The Mayo senior hurlers' second competitive game takes place this evening (Friday) against Leitrim in the Connacht Hurling League Shield final.

The game will be played at the NUI Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome in Bekan, throwing in at 6 p.m.

Manager Derek Walsh will still be without his Tooreen GAA contingents for this game as the Mayo champions are in All-Ireland club semi-final action on Sunday.

Players from Westport, Ballina Stephenites, Castlebar Mitchels and Ballyhaunis will get a chance to impress the manager ahead of the opening round of the Allianz National Hurling League. Mayo face Wicklow on February 6 in Ballina in their first Division 2B NHL game.

On the substitutes' bench are: Brian Peoples, Niall Hurley, Alan Ferguson, Darren Murray, Nicky Carolan, Danny Hill, Eoghan McGrath, Jack Trench, Brian Hunt, Kieran McDermott, Malcolm McEvilly, Cian Mulchrone.
