The newspaper welcomed 2.2 million visitors to its website alone during 2021.

The Castlebar-based media firm has increased its social media fan base to over 73,000, with 64% engaging on a weekly basis.

Up to 90% of traffic comes via mobile telephones and 10% by way of laptops or PCs.

Forty-two per cent of the traffic is generated through the newspaper's widely popular Facebook page with the remainder engaging via Twitter and Instagram.

A total of 56% of our readers are female and 44% male with the majority of readers aged over 25.

Eighty-one per cent of the audience is based in Ireland with 19% overseas.

The Connaught Telegraph, part of the Celtic Media Group, now has a range of new sales options for businesses and other advertisers on its digital platforms, reaching more people than ever before.

There are plans to further develop the newspaper's social media presence in 2022.
