Fundraiser launched to support Mayo family following fire

A FUNDRAISING campaign has been launched to support a Mayo family who lost their home in a devastating fire.

Having renovated an old cottage near Westport, the family were luckily out when the fire broke out. However, they lost all their belongings.

Now, Clodagh Murray has set up a GoFundMe campaign to support the family - Jenny Tsagalas, her partner Tony and their little girl.

She explained on the fundraising page how the family bought an old run-down cottage outside Westport a few years ago and spent all their time and energy extending and renovating it.

Thanks to their hard work they transformed the property into a beautiful home, but it was destroyed in April when the fire broke out.

Wrote Clodagh: “Thankfully, nobody was hurt as the family was out at the time. However, they have lost absolutely everything. They were not able to recover any belongings.

“It is impossible to put a price on everything they had built up across a lifetime but we want to help by assisting them with the cost of rebuilding their home and replacing some of what they have lost.

“Please consider donating whatever you can spare. We will be grateful for any amount, no matter how small.”
