SIRO fibre broadband network launch in north Mayo town

SIRO, the broadband network operator, is set to launch its full fibre broadband network for Ballina on Tuesday next, June 28.

The official launch event will take place at 10 a.m. in Ballina’s Great National Hotel. It will be attended by SIRO CEO John Keaney, local elected representatives and officials and business and community leaders.

Details of SIRO’s network in the town, how and when homes and businesses can connect to SIRO’s 100% fibre broadband and the benefits of future proofed fibre broadband will be outlined at the launch.

Construction work has been ongoing to build SIRO’s broadband network for Ballina since autumn 2021.

SIRO is a joint venture company of ESB and Vodafone, established in 2015 to roll out full fibre broadband to Ireland’s towns and cities.

To date, SIRO has rolled out its fibre broadband network to 65 towns across Ireland, reaching 430,000 homes and businesses.

Its broadband network is already available in Castlebar and Westport, with Ballina the next Mayo town to benefit from this world-class and future proofed connectivity.

Fibre broadband is recognised as the fastest and most reliable broadband available globally today when compared with outdated and slower broadband technologies such as copper or cable, which many homes and businesses are still forced to rely upon.

Ballina residents and businesses who wish to hear more can register to attend the launch event at https://siro.ie/registration/.
