Extension for north Mayo primary care centre approved
DEPUTY Dara Calleary has welcomed confirmation that a planning application and HSE board approval have been approved for an extension to Ballina Primary Care Centre.
Said Deputy Calleary: “I am very pleased to confirm that both planning and HSE board approval are now in place for an extensive investment in Ballina Primary Care Centre.
“HSE Estates are presently liaising with the landlord and the developer to finalise the agreement for the lease and agree on a commencement date for the project.”
The extension will bring the overall area of the centre from 1,032m² to 2,934m². This, he explained, will permit the addition and expansion of services delivered from the centre such as public health nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, dietetics, psychology, audiology, community medicine, paediatric services, diagnostics, dental, ophthalmology, podiatry, TUSLA, CAMHS, social work services, home support services.
Added Deputy Calleary: “I will continue to liaise with HSE in the coming weeks to ensure that this extremely important project for north Mayo now moves to commencement without delay.”
