Mayo Football League and Solar 21 extend partnership for a further three years
Solar 21, a proud partner of Mayo Football League since January 2017, have committed their support for another three years.
To celebrate this partnership the home of Mayo Football League in Milebush, Castlebar will continue to be known as ‘Solar 21 Park.’
Gerry Sweeney, chairman of the Mayo Football League said: “In Solar 21 we have a partner with a strong brand that is at the leading edge of renewable energy projects. The company is firmly rooted in Co. Mayo and is a fantastic Irish success story, with interests in the UK and across Europe.
"This is a hugely significant partnership for us, and we could not be prouder to confirm a three-year extension to our already long and successful partnership with Solar 21."
Solar 21’s continued support has allowed the management team at Solar 21 Park to invest in future development and to enhance the stadium for both players and supporters.
LED Lights will be installed later this year on the 4G astro turf pitch, along with the introduction of a new Sporkskey booking system and a new security system. The stadium will also see the inclusion of an enclosed press box in the main stand in the coming months.
Mr. Sweeney added: “The Mayo Football League has thrived because of our shared partnership values. We look forward to continuing to work together to help and support the people of Mayo, both young and old, for generations to come.”
The Bradley brothers, Achill Island natives are always proud to support communities in Mayo. CEO of Solar 21, Michael Bradley, described the new developments as exciting, and added that he is exceptionally proud to be associated with the latest upgrades.
“The facilities and the ground management team standards at ‘Solar 21 Park’ have always impressed me. Solar 21 Park is the home of football in Mayo and the players and clubs of the county deserve to have the best possible amenities. We are delighted to be able to play our part in ensuring that these high standards are maintained, and that the stadium continues to develop and evolve for future generations”.
Solar 21 and its sister company Clear Financial, have recently expanded their representation in Mayo. Shane Canon, A QFA with experience in client management, recently joined well established financial adviser Craig Middleton. The company’s support in the area has been significant and continues to grow.
Solar 21 has recently received good news regarding their £3bn North Lincolnshire Green Energy Park, as their proposal has been accepted by the UK's planning inspectorate for examination.
This will bring together a range of proven technologies to recover energy from waste along with carbon capture, utilisation and storage, hydrogen production and a district heat network.
