Death of Castlebar man in New York

THE death has taken place in New York, after a short illness, of Castlebar native Tommy Redmond.

Age 88 years, Mr. Redmond, a carpenter by trade, only retired some years ago.

Mr. Redmond emigrated to the US from Castlebar when he was in his early 20s and was very popular among the Irish diaspora in New York and Florida.

He was predeceased by his wife Eileen, sons Andrew and Kevin, his brothers Andy and John, sisters Chrissie Dolan, Bessy Holland, Evelyn Wheeler, Mary Carron, Patsy Redmond, and his twin sister Shelia O’Horohoe.
