Ballyheane school improvement plans approved

PUPILS and staff at Ballyheane National School can look forward to improved facilities in the future.

A grant of planning permission has issued for an extension and alterations to the existing school building to include a much needed mainstream classroom and special education accommodation.

Access will also be improved with a new set-down area on the main road/N84 boundary to accommodate access for emergency services, and also a new accessible pedestrian access route.

The plans also include an increased yard play area and the construction of a walkway around the perimeter of the site.
