Offal dumping incident at Mayo river under investigation

Mayo County Council is investigating the dumping of offal into a river in the Ballyvary district.

It occurred at a location known locally as Randal's Bridge.

The dumping incident, which has outraged the local community, represents a risk to public health and aquatic life.

The location is very popular with walkers and anglers.

Anybody who may have information about the incident are asked to contact Mayo County Council or Castlebar Garda Station.
