Plans revealed for vacant Mayo county town property

Plans have been revealed for a prominent vacant property at the corner of Mountain View and Stephen Garvey Way in Castlebar.

A planning application has been submitted to Mayo County Council by Vivian Hussey to transform the site.

The proposal involves demolishing the derelict house and constructing a two-storey over basement building.

The new development would consist of two retail units at basement level, retail space at ground floor level and offices at first floor level.

The location has been a eyesore for a number of years and this welcome investment is certain to have a hugely positive impact.
