Bob Dylan Appreciation Society gig in Mayo

THE music of Bob Dylan will be lovingly presented in the most unique, intimate of settings at a 150-year-old converted Mayo primary school building this month.

The Bob Dylan Appreciation Society is the latest in a series of unique performances to be held at the Irish Folk Music School in Glenisland, Castlebar.

These unique intimate events were so well received by audiences at the first season they have been asked to repeat some of the featured artists and we've also had so many requests for artists to feature in the second season.

This is an unmissable gig for Bob Dylan fans and indeed music fans in general. The first season saw the music of Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, John Prine, Luke Kelly and Shane McGowan been performed to sold-out audiences. This time, with a full band, for one night only, they present the songs and music of Shane McGowan and The Pogues.

With a variety of instruments on stage the music teachers will perform choice cuts from the vast back catalogue including some of the all-time classic Dylan songs and some lesser well known gems that will surprise and delight in the most intimate of venues at the 150-year-old national school in Glenisland.

The concert takes place on Saturday, November 12, at 8 p.m, with doors open at 7.30 p.m.

There is no alcohol at this event but freshly ground coffee and tea will be served with a few goodies on arrival.
