The image captured at the upper balcony of Moorehall and shared on the Facebook page of Paranormal Supernatural Investigations Ireland

Historic Mayo estate linked with 'paranormal discovery'

Ghost hunters have reported capturing an image of two ghosts in Mayo.

Members of Paranormal Supernatural Investigations Ireland have been seeking to catch phantoms at Moorehall for decades.

It is believed a Druid called Drithliu placed a curse on the land in or around 400AD.

An image posted on their Facebook page cited "a shadowy figure that looks like a man holding a small child on the upper balcony."

The page further outlined: "We carried out a few experiments at Halloween during our paranormal investigation at Moorehall.

"We decided to focus our investigation this year at Moore Hall as it is believed a Druid called Drithliu placed a curse on this land in or around 400AD.

"George Moore was warned by locals not to build Moorehall at the site of Muckloon Hill, as the land was deemed to be cursed.

"George Moore went ahead and built Moorehall, what followed next was a tragedy for the Moore family.

"Shortly after moving into Moorehall in 1795, George Henry Moore suffered a stroke and was left blind.

"The balcony area of Moorehall had got our attention from our previous investigation which was held on September 2021. So this year we focused on that area for our investigation."
