Mayo native wins animation film award

AN animator and film director originally from Castlebar have been awarded for recent film work

Joe Loftus has been doing really well in the world of animation and film and getting a lot of recognition. He has worked as an animator and director on shows for Disney, BBC and Hasbro.

Recently, he won the Best Short Film award at the Belfast Film Festival for his animated film ‘Still Up There’, which was held in Belfast recently (from 3rd-12th November).

His film has been selected for screening at a number of film festivals internationally including London International Animation film festival, Rhode Island International film festival and nominated for best animation at Richard Harris International film festival.

The film was also screened at a number of festivals across Ireland including the Kerry International film festival, Offline film festival, Indie Cork film festival, and Waterford film festival.
