Plan for 60 apartments in south Mayo town under appeal
A PLAN to develop 60 apartments in Claremorris will be decided on by An Bord Pleanála.
The project, earmarked for a site at Kilcolman Road, Claremorris, was turned down by planners in Mayo County Council.
The proposal is to construct two five-storey apartment buildings on a site near Lidl.
Reasons for refusal cited by the council included inappropriate density, visual intrusion, and an inadequate mix of building heights and typologies for a local urban context.
Now, developer Harold Conway has lodged an appeal with An Bord Pleanála against that decision.
The case is due to be decided by April 3 next.
