Campervan facility plan at north Mayo docks

PUBLIC consultation is open on plans for new campervan facilities in Belmullet.

Mayo County Council proposes to carry out footpath improvement works and signage at Dock Road, and to provide campervan facilities at the pier in Belmullet.

The project will improve pedestrian access between the docks and Barrack Street and Carter Square, and improve the public realm and amenity of the docks generally, with widening and repaving of footpaths on Dock Road, and line marking to define car and campervan parking.

The aires type development will include electricity and water connection points and waste disposal for campervans.

The plans are on display at Áras Inis Gluaire in Belmullet, Westport Civic Offices, and at the council's planning office at Aras an Chontae in Castlebar.

They are also available to view online at consult.mayo.ie.

Members of the public can make submissions up until February 14.
