Staff being recruited for Mayo velorail project

THE velorail project in Kiltimagh is nearing completion and getting ready to open to the public.

IRD Kiltimagh is now recruiting staff to operate it.

The velorail will run for 15 kilometres on the existing closed railway line in Kiltimagh.

In a social media post, the IRD set out: 'As we get ever closer to an opening date for our velorail project, we are currently seeking to recruit a panel of operatives and are welcoming CVs from anyone interested in a part-time/seasonal work.

'If you would like to be part of a team charged with operating a new and exciting, unique tourism project, the first of its kind in Ireland or the UK, please send your CV to recruitment@ird-kiltimagh.ie as soon as possible.'

There are a variety of roles to be filled to ensure the smooth operation of the velorail and full training will be given.

Roles will include reception and check-in, tour guides, railbike maintenance, etc.
