Nursing vacancy on stunning Mayo island

A STUNNING Mayo island is looking for a full-time nurse to work in its community.

The position has arisen on Inishturk, which has a population of 60, boosted by an influx of tourists over the summer months.

The islanders want to know if you, or someone you know, would like to be the next Registered General Nurse on Inishturk?

The nurse will reside on the island, providing 24/7 cover to the community at Inishturk Health Centre, with the GP, who is based in Clifden and visits the island every three weeks.

The overall aim of the island Registered General Nurse is to assist the individual to maximise health potential and includes the restoration, maintenance and promotion of health. The position requires a broad range of skills, knowledge and experience, having the opportunity to keep these skills up-to-date through clinical exposure and continuous professional development.
