Mayo county town mourns passing of much-loved personality

The death has taken place of Margaret Patricia (Patsy) Doyle (née Joyce), Mountdaisy, and Apartment 13, Sean Bhaile, Castle Street, Castlebar.

Aged 79, she died peacefully at the Mayo Hospice, Castlebar.

Predeceased by her loving husband Edward (Eddie), she was mother of Liz Blake (Castlebar) Doreen Doyle (New York) and Edward and Peter (Castlebar).

She will be sadly missed by her loving daughters, sons, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.

Patsy started work at a young age with the Castlebar Bacon Company and she later worked in Travenol (Baxter Health Care), Castlebar, where she was well liked and respected by all her work colleagues.

Patsy was a very sociable person and she loved nothing more than meeting up with her friends old and new.

She loved to travel and enjoyed her regular holidays abroad and in Ireland.

Her greatest joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she loved spending time with them.

Patsy will repose in Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar on Friday from 6 to 7.30 p.m.

Removal from Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home on Saturday morning to St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyheane, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

Afterwards Patsy will be laid to rest in Ballyheane Cemetery.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.
