Another splendid success story by Ballinrobe Musical Society

The Ballinrobe Musical Society's staging of 'The Phantom of the Opera' drew to a close on Saturday night after a week-long run.

It was a spectacular and brilliant show that drew capacity crowds to the local community school's gymnasium.

Well done once to everybody involved.

In an end of production statement, the society outlined: "The time has come to say goodbye to The Phantom of The Opera.

"But while this show may be leaving Ballinrobe, it will never leave our hearts and minds.

"Staging this incredible musical has been an experience beyond our wildest dreams; one that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.

"For years, the notion of bringing Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most-loved show to Ballinrobe was simply a dream, rather than an ambition.

"For the past few months, we have lived that dream and loved every second of it.

"Bringing this West End classic to the west of Ireland was a gargantuan task.

"Endless, untold, incalculable hours of work have gone into staging The Phantom of The Opera, most of it far away from the bright lights of the Ballinrobe Community School gymnasium.

"Once again, our small army of volunteers – too numerous to name – put their hearts and souls into bringing the magic of musical theatre to Ballinrobe.

"From those who sewed garments, made tea, shook hands, drilled screws, source props, parked cards, hung posters or who helped out in any small way, we say a big, massive heartfelt thank you.

"Likewise, we have simply been blown away by the level of support we have received from the local community.

"Once again, the businesses and community groups of Ballinrobe have extended a generous hand of support to our annual show. We simply cannot thank you enough for your continued support.

"But our biggest thank you of all must go to our audience. You turned out in your droves for seven performances and your kindness, compliments and words of support have been nothing short of amazing.

"It is because of you that the dream of bringing The Phantom of The Opera to Ballinrobe became a reality. It is because of you that we have gotten to enjoy endless nights of fun, laughter, song and dance with a show that will live forever in our hearts.

"We are truly sad to say goodbye to this show, but we would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

"We dreamed the dream, lived the dream and experienced the magic of musical theatre – and we cannot wait to do it all over again in 2025!

"Staging ‘Phantom’ was a truly magical experience and a dream come true for Ballinrobe Musical Society.

"Thank you to everyone who made it happen."
