Labour Party selects candidate for Mayo local elections

The Labour Party has formally selected Kamal Uddin to run in next June's local elections in the Castlebar Municipal District.

The selection convention took place last night in the Ivy Tower Hotel in the county town.

Mr. Uddin, as local businessman, said he is looking forward to the challenge of winning a seat.

He also stood in the last local elections in 2019 as well as the general election in 2020.

Kamal has been a key figure in setting up the new Castlebar Islamic Centre at Moneen in the town for members of the local Muslim community.
