Aviva Stadium tribute to the late former Mayo president of the FAI Pat Quigley

The Republic of Ireland team stood for a minute's applause in memory of the late former FAI President Pat Quigley before tonight's international friendly match against Belgium at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

It was the first senior international game at the venue since the death on December 31 last of Mr. Quigley, 'Anfield', Spencer Park, Castlebar.

Supporters also joined in the applause to a great football man who served as president of the FAI from 1996 to 2000.

He was also a member of UEFA for many years and also gave a lifetime of service to the sport at local and provincial levels.
