Burrishoole GAA Club to host huge national Under 10 boys blitz in west Mayo
Burrishoole GAA Club, Newport, will welcome a number of teams from around the country when it hosts a national Under 10 boys blitz at McGovern Park on Saturday next, August 3.
This exciting event will include young teams from across the country, with participants travelling from Donegal (CLG Ghaoth Dobhair), Armagh (Crossmaglen), Roscommon (St. Brigid's), Monaghan (Scotstown), Sligo (St. Mary's), Galway (Anach Cuain), and Burrishoole's home county of Mayo, to include Castlebar Mitchels and Knockmore as well as the hosts themselves.
The blitz promises to be a fantastic day of sport, camaraderie and community spirit. Each team will have the opportunity to play a minimum of eight games, ensuring a day filled with plenty of action and enjoyment for all players involved.
To complement the on-field excitement, there will be food and entertainment available on-site, making it a fun-filled day for families and supporters.
This vibrant sporting event coincides with the Newport Grainne Uaile Festival, adding to the festive atmosphere in west Mayo. The festival, known for its rich cultural heritage and lively activities, will take place throughout the weekend, providing even more entertainment and attractions for visitors.
Burrishoole GAA Club extends a warm welcome to all participating teams and their supporters. The club is proud to host this event – the only Under 10 national blitz happening in Mayo for 2024. Club members are looking forward to a memorable day of football and festivities.
