Have Your Say: Help shape future of Family Centre in Castlebar

The Family Centre in Castlebar has been a cornerstone of wellbeing in our community for over 30 years.

Throughout that time, we have walked alongside individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging moments — providing counselling, educational programmes, Flourish Social Prescribing, support groups, and spiritual guidance in a safe and compassionate environment.

Now, we are looking ahead.

We are taking time to reflect on where we have come from, where we are now, and how we can continue to meet the evolving needs of our community in these challenging financial times.

Part of this process involves reviewing our identity — including the name of the centre, how we communicate what we do, how we remain financially viable, and how we can better reflect the values that guide us in everything we offer.

At the heart of this journey is one clear aim: to ensure the Family Centre continues to be a place of healing, hope, and support for generations to come, but we cannot do that without you.

We are inviting clients, participants, staff, board members, funders, partner organisations, and members of the wider community to take part in this consultation.

This is about shaping a future that stays true to the Family Centre’s core mission: supporting mental health and wellbeing in a compassionate, professional, and inclusive environment.

We believe in empowering people, nurturing resilience, and building a sense of belonging — and we want to express those values in everything we do, from our services to how we present ourselves to the public.

As part of this consultation, we have developed a short survey to gather feedback and ideas from the community. It will only take a few minutes to complete, and your input will directly influence the direction we take.
