Top honour for Mayo company at Ibec KeepWell awards
LOCAL company DeCare was recently honoured with the Company of the Year - SME award at the 2025 Ibec KeepWell awards.
The award is national recognition of their continued commitment to employee wellbeing and excellence in workplace practices.
In total, seven of the top 100 companies short-listed accredited with the KeepWell Mark, Ibec’s workplace wellbeing accreditation programme, were selected as winners in this year’s KeepWell Awards.
Claremorris-based DeCare were honoured with the Company of the Year - SME award.
“High-performing companies recognise that people are at the heart of their success. Supporting employee wellbeing helps create a healthy, engaged and productive workforce,” said Ibec KeepWell account manager Sarah McSharry. “The KeepWell Mark provides a framework, accreditation and awards that showcase all their hard work in this area. It also allows companies to identify gaps in knowledge such as menopause education, and support groups for caregivers and those with hidden disabilities.”
The award recognises DeCare’s ongoing commitment to all areas of workplace wellbeing, said human resources manager Petraea Costello: “There is a great deal of energy and focus throughout the organisation creating a culture of wellbeing, and it is something to which everyone at DeCare has contributed in the last few years and will provide us with a framework for the years ahead. I think it really demonstrates that we take the health and wellbeing of our employees seriously and that it’s a top priority for us.
“We’ll take great motivation from the win to ensure we maintain our high standards but also strive to continuously improve.
"This achievement is a proud moment for our entire team and reflects the strong values we uphold within our organisation and community.
“We believe that taking care of ourselves and our colleagues is essential to a happy and healthy workplace.”
