An Post reminder for Christmas delivery schedule

An Post reminds customers of the latest dates for posting your Christmas cards and parcels to your loved ones this Christmas wherever they are in the world.

The last dates for posting to the USA and the rest of the world are fast approaching with just under a week to go to ensure your parcels, cards and letters make it to family and friends on time for Christmas Day.

The first key date is Thursday, December 4, for standard letters and parcels going to distant addresses such as Australia, New Zealand, Asia and also parcels to the USA.

Due to exceptionally high volumes, Tuesday, December 16 is the posting deadline for all parcels for pre-Christmas delivery within Ireland and to the United Kingdom.

Monday, December 22 is the final deadline for posting letters and cards within the Republic of Ireland.

Any parcels going to Europe should be posted by Friday, December 12 and letters and cards should be sent by Thursday, December 18.

Children’s letters to Santa should be posted by Wednesday, December 10. All they need to do is put their letter in an envelope, seal it and address it to Santa Claus, North Pole and stick a national N stamp on it. The child’s name and address should be clearly written in the top left corner of the envelope.

An Post urges senders to send their cards and parcels ahead of the deadlines to avoid any disappointment.

An Post is offering the largest ever discounts on Christmas stamp booklets containing 15 national stamps which cover postage within the island of Ireland for €20, a saving of €4.75. A booklet of 5 international postage stamps for letters and cards to anywhere in the world is €13.25. You can buy both for just €30, making a saving of €8.
