Mayo garda retires after over 30 years service

CLAREMORRIS-BASED Garda Melanie McGowan has retired after three decades of service with the force.

Colleagues marked the occasion with a special presentation to a valued colleague and friend to many.

Operating out of Claremorris Garda Station, Garda McGowan dedicated over 30 years of service to An Garda Síochána and was an integral part of the Claremorris Community Engagement area, where she will be missed by many.

In a social media post, An Garda Síochána Mayo extended thanks to Melanie and wished her a happy retirement.
