Rain to spread across Mayo on Thursday

Mayo will see cloud thickening from the west on Thursday with patchy light rain and drizzle spreading south-eastwards through the day.

Rain will turn more persistent in the west and north-west later in the evening.

Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in light south-westerly winds, increasing moderate to fresh through the day.

Thursday night will bring more persistent rain spreading from the north-west overnight, with a clearance to isolated showers moving into the north-west by morning.

Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in moderate west to south-west winds.

Friday will bring sunny spells and isolated showers following a clearance of rain in the morning.

Some showers may turn to hail or sleet later.

Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in moderate to fresh north-westerly winds.

Saturday will be a bright and blustery day with sunny spells and scattered showers.

The odd wintry shower is possible on higher ground, with highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.

Conditions will remain mixed into Sunday and early next week with occasional outbreaks of rain, though long dry spells are also expected.
