Man fined €300 over public order offence in vicinity of Mayo garda station

A man who was drunk inside the public area of a garda station has been fined.

Daniel Christie, of Bunree Road, Ballina, pleaded guilty to the public order offence before Ballina District Court.

On March 5, 2025, Christie was intoxicated in the public area of Ballina Garda Station.

He was considered a danger to himself and others and was arrested.

Christie has 10 previous convictions.

Solicitor Denis Molloy said his client apologises for his conduct.

He said Christie has a problem with alcohol which he is doing his best to deal with.

Judge Vincent Deane convicted and fined the man €300.
