Mayo motorist pleads guilty to drink driving - and without insurance

A motorist pleaded guilty to drink driving and driving without insurance.

Gerard Breslin, of Calladashan, Knockmore, appeared before Ballina District Court.

He was stopped while driving at Station Road, Foxford, on March 4, 2025.

Breslin failed a roadside breath test and was arrested.

A breath sample later showed a reading of 40mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 22mg.

Judge Vincent Deane imposed a one-year driving disqualification and a €200 fine.
