Mayo commuters 'late for work and school due to Irish Rail timetable'
A Mayo TD has called on the Minister for Transport to examine the current Irish Rail timetable serving the Ballina branch line.
Deputy Paul Lawless made particular reference to the daily morning service arriving into Ballina at 9.07 a.m. "which does not align with common school and workplace start times of 9.00 a.m."
He elaborated: "I want the Minister Darragh O'Brien to assess the feasibility of adjusting the timetable so that the service arrives before 9.00 a.m. to better support commuters.
"I also want him to further review the connection times at Manulla Junction, where passengers from Castlebar and Westport currently face wait times of approximately one hour when transferring to the Ballina service."
His comments have been referred to Irish Rail reply.
