Farmers in Mayo to receive ACRES balancing payments – Dillon

Farmers participating in the Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES) will receive balancing payments this week, Minister of State Alan Dillon TD has said.

Minister Dillon said these balancing payments are vital for farmers in Mayo who are implementing environmentally friendly practices on their farms.

“I’m delighted to see these payments have started to issue, and that these payments are issued a month earlier this year. The ACRES payment is so important for farmers right across the country.

“It is essential we acknowledge the work farmers are doing to address environmental concerns in the agriculture sector.

“Across the country, €37 million has been paid to 47,000 ACRES participants this week.”

This week’s pay runs will bring the total paid, in core scheme payments, to farmers in ACRES to €783.5 million since the scheme commenced in January 2023.

“It is envisaged that over 88% of the farmers in ACRES will have received their ACRES 2025 balancing payment by the end of this week, which will come as a welcome relief for farmers in Mayo.

“Farmers in Mayo can be reassured that Fine Gael is committed to supporting the agricultural sector,” concluded Minister Dillon.
