Information evening on progress of Daisy Lodge Mayo build

Cancer Fund for Children is delighted to invite the Mayo community to a special information evening to learn more about the construction and development of Daisy Lodge Cong, a unique, therapeutic short break facility. The evening will take place in The Crossroads Community Centre, Cong, on Tuesday, May 19, at 7 p.m. Those attending are asked to be at the venue at 6.30 p.m. This session will allow attendees to hear an update on build progress of this purpose-built facility which will provide vital support to children, young people and families impacted by cancer across the island of Ireland, as well as an opportunity to ask questions about its impact on the community.

Due to open in Spring 2027, the charity’s second Daisy Lodge will be located on the beautiful shores of Lough Corrib near Cong and will allow Cancer Fund for Children to offer even more families the opportunity to spend quality time together in a safe and supportive environment.

Preparation of the 30,000 square foot site began in 2024, and full construction commenced in summer 2025. Daisy Lodge, Mayo, will be a special place where children and their families can make memories, and have precious time to rest, reconnect and rebuild.

Those planning on attending the information evening are asked to please email rachelfullam@cancerfundforchildren.ie before Monday, May 11.

Cancer Fund for Children provides emotional, social and therapeutic support to children diagnosed with cancer and their families across the island of Ireland, in hospital, in the family home and at the charity’s existing short break centre, Daisy Lodge in Newcastle, Co Down.

By building a second Daisy Lodge in Cong, Cancer Fund for Children will be able to provide short break support to even more families when they need it most.
