Mayo enterpreneur Niall McGarry sells his business to world leading marketing firm
A Mayo entrepreneur has announced the sale of his business Fabric Social, a social first creative company, for an undisclosed sum.
Niall McGarry, a native of Moneen, Castlebar, today confirmed that one of the world’s biggest advertising and marketing groups, France-based Publicis Groupe, is taking over his operation to create a new PR, social and influence agency.
Revealing the news on his Facebook page, he stated: "Wow! What can I say.
"When the world’s biggest advertising and marketing group comes knocking on your door, it’s hard to say no.
"I am beyond proud to announce that Fabric Social has been fully acquired by the 100,000 plus people, global institution Publicis Groupe.
"To sit alongside the advertising household names such as Saatchi & Saatchi and Leo Burnetts is truly mind blowing!
"A massive thanks to my incredible wife Sarah Maria and son Max for their unwavering support."
McGarry was the brains behind JOE.ie in 2010, providing an online outlet for Irish males with an interest in areas like sport, tech, entertainment, motors and fashion.
He also created Her.ie, a site that catered for Irish women and achieved almost instant success, already attracting an audience of over 2.2 million unique visitors each month.
In July 2020 Joe.ie was bought by an investment fund, Greencastle Capital.
Niall subsequently established Social Fabric which became very successful in recent years.
