Mayo home energy upgrade information event

CASTLEBAR Tidy Towns is supporting the upcoming SEAI home energy upgrade information evening, taking place in collaboration with the Sustainable Energy Communities (SEC), SEAI and Mayo County Council.

The event will be held in the TF Royal Hotel & Theatre, Castlebar, on Thursday, April 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. and offers homeowners an excellent opportunity to receive direct advice and practical information on home energy upgrades and retrofit options.

Independent specialists, local suppliers and registered contractors will be available to help people make informed decisions on improving energy efficiency, reducing costs and creating more sustainable homes.

Exhibitors on the evening will include BER assessors and technical advisors, one stop shops and local SEAI registered contractors, heat pump and solar installers, window and door contractors, banks and credit unions.

This event is designed to support homeowners on their retrofit journey and provide clear guidance on available grants, funding options and the steps involved in improving home energy performance.

A special LED bulb swap will also take place on the evening for registered attendees. People can bring old inefficient bulbs such as incandescent or CFL bulbs and exchange them for new energy-efficient LED bulbs, with a maximum of four bulbs per person.

Castlebar Tidy Towns encourages all homeowners and members of the community to attend and take advantage of this valuable local event, which supports sustainability, energy efficiency and the wider Sustainable Development Goals for the town.

Further details are available through Mayo County Council and SEAI.
