Mayo people urged to register to vote

MAYO County Council is supporting National Voter Registration Day to encourage the people of Mayo to register to vote and for the existing electorate to update their details.

The online voter registration website checktheregister.ie is very easy to use for new applicants and existing electors, including pre-registration for 16 and 17 year olds.

The cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, Councillor Sean Carey, said: “The campaign theme ‘Have your Say: How to engage with Public Representatives’ highlights the importance of connecting with your local county councillors and encourages all Mayo people to reach out to their local representatives for whatever support they need at local democratic level.

“Remember, your vote is your voice.”
