Mayo's Electric Skyline donates over €30,000 to Beaumont Hospital Foundation
MAYO-BASED company Electric Skyline has presented a donation of over €30,000 to the Beaumont Hospital Foundation, supporting vital family support services.
The donation was presented by managing director Sean Corcoran, head of HSQE Fiona Kemski, and safety ambassador Marian Deasy, following their attendance at the Workers’ Memorial Ceremony earlier that morning. The ceremony included an address from Minister of State Alan Dillon.
Following the ceremony, the group travelled to Beaumont Hospital to formally present the donation.
The contribution forms part of The Skyline Summit, an Electric Skyline company charity initiative that saw staff take on a six-hour continuous hike on Croagh Patrick on Saturday, April 25. The event was organised to raise awareness of the Live for Lorcan initiative, which promotes a stronger, more human approach to workplace safety.
Speaking following the presentation, Sean Corcoran said: “We are very proud to be able to make a contribution like this. The Skyline Summit was about bringing our people together for something meaningful, and it’s great to see that effort translate into real support for families who need it.”
Fiona Kemski added: “The Live for Lorcan initiative is about reminding us all that safety is personal. Behind every policy and procedure are people and families. Being able to connect that message with something tangible like this donation makes it even more powerful.”
Marian Deasy, who spoke to RTÉ News at the event, reflected on the personal impact behind the initiative.
“On March this year, Lorcan would have been 40 years of age. You think about what might have been - would he be married now, would there be more grandchildren. That’s what is taken from you. Every life matters, and every individual deserves to go home safely to their families and loved ones every single day,” she said.
The Live for Lorcan initiative, inspired by the story of Lorcan Deasy, focuses on strengthening workplace safety culture by linking safety behaviours with personal responsibility and real-life impact.
The donation will support family support services at Beaumont Hospital, which provide essential care and assistance to families during some of the most difficult times in their lives.
