More investment in Mayo Peace Park urged

THE Mayo Peace Park in Castlebar needs some investment.

A popular tourist attraction, it is falling into disrepair, Councillor Cyril Burke has highlighted at a municipal district meeting.

It's important the council maintains it, he said, and he urged local authority management to find funding to get it back to where it was.

Municipal head Ann Moore said the park is on the council's radar in terms of a project that needs to be addressed.
