Gardaí investigating after discovery of man’s body in Mayo county town

GARDAÍ are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a man in Castlebar today.

Shortly after 9 a.m., gardaí and emergency services were alerted after a male in his 30s was found unresponsive at a residential property in Castlebar.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.

The coroner and Office of the State Pathologist have been notified and the scene remains preserved.

A post-mortem examination will be arranged and the outcome will determine the course of the garda investigation.

Investigations are ongoing.
