Mayo film editor involved in award winning new documentary

Award winning documentary film Once We Were Punks will be hitting Mayo Movie World as part of its national cinema release this Friday, May 15. Written/directed by Frank Shouldice (The Man Who Wanted To Fly), the film premiered at Galway Film Fléadh where it sold out in 35 minutes. It then went on to the IFI Documentary Festival, where it won the Audience Award for Best Film. Westport native Oisín McGreal edited the documentary.

Once We Were Punks deals with four school friends from Bailiboro, Co Cavan, who set up a punk band in the late 1980's. They intended to take over the world, but that didn't happen. Now in their late 50's, the band has reformed as the Sons of Southern Ulster and have just released their third album Through the Bridewell Gate.
