Mayo Women's League Under 17 champions celebrate

THE divisional champions in the Hayes Mechanical & Engineering Mayo Under 17 Girls League are celebrating unbeaten runs in their title-winning campaigns.

Ballyvary Blue Bombers were presented with the Premier Division cup at their home ground on Tuesday evening, with Castlebar Town returning from Killala with the Division One silverware.

Both sides will have their eyes on further silverware next Sunday in their respective cup and shield finals at Milebush.

The Bombers played out a thrilling season finale yesterday evening, a 3-3 draw the result against Kilmurry, with their visitors finishing runners-up in the league.

Down in Killala, Castlebar Town also wrapped up their Division One title on a high with a 2-0 win, similarly having not lost a game all season.

In an exciting week at the Under 17 grade, attention now turns to the cup and shield finals taking place next Sunday, May 17, in Umbro Park.

In the cup final, Westport United face Ballyvary Blue Bombers at 2 p.m.. The shield final kicks off at 11.15 a.m. and features Castlebar Town v Manulla.
