Rain and drizzle to move across Mayo on Thursday

Thursday will begin mostly cloudy across Mayo, with patchy rain, drizzle and mist.

A more persistent spell of rain will spread northwards over the county during the afternoon.

Some limited hazy sunshine may develop in the east of the county towards evening.

Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in light to moderate southerly winds, increasing fresh at times near the coast.

Thursday night will bring cloudy conditions with patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading eastwards.

Mist patches and hill and coastal fog are expected in places.

Lowest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees in light to moderate southerly winds.

Looking ahead, Friday will be mostly cloudy to begin with patchy rain, drizzle and mist, before cloud breaks up through the afternoon with sunny spells and a few showers developing.

Highest temperatures of 14 to 20 degrees.

The weekend brings better prospects, with Saturday set to be a mostly dry day as high pressure takes hold, with warm sunny spells and highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees.

Sunday looks dry, warm and sunny for most, with temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees.

The settled spell is expected to continue into early next week, with daytime highs potentially reaching the mid-twenties.
