MAYO'S favourite bear is taking a little beauty break.

Paddington will be absent from his bench at the Fairgreen in Westport for the next week or so.

Councillor Brendan Mulroy explained: “Paddington Bear will be off on his holidays next week for some beauty treatments and some TLC.

“The most popular bear in the world will be back on the Fairgreen looking shiny and new in about 10 days.

“Safe travels!"
