Mayo's Coillte Come Home Festival returns with biggest line-up yet
KILTIMAGH is preparing to welcome visitors home once again as the Coillte Come Home Festival returns from July 8 to 13 with six days packed full of music, comedy, sport, family fun and community celebration.
The much-loved festival has grown year on year and organisers say 2026 promises to be the biggest and most diverse programme yet, with events taking place across the town including Main Street, the Festival Field, local pubs, the Sculpture Park and community venues.
Festival highlights include:
• Coillte Come Laugh at Cill Aodain Court Hotel featuring Karl Spain, Ger Staunton, Martin Angolo and Aideen McQueen.
• The official opening of the festival by the King of the Coilltes followed by fireworks.
• Ruaile Buaile live in Kiltimagh for one of the biggest nights of the weekend.
• Friday night live music from Spring Break.
• The return of the popular Coillte Come Home Busking Competition.
• Interpub quiz and poker tournament.
• Family fun days with Murray’s Funfair, obstacle courses, sack races, egg throwing and more.
• Pilates for EveryBody in the Sculpture Park.
• Jiving workshops with Sandra Ganley.
• The inaugural Shane 'Peach' Freeman Junior Coillte Cup golf competition.
• Music in local pubs throughout the week.
Festival organisers say the event is about more than entertainment - it is about community, connection and bringing people home to Kiltimagh.
“Coillte Come Home has become one of the highlights of the summer in Mayo. It is a celebration of community spirit, local talent and the people who continue to support Kiltimagh both at home and abroad. We are proud to see the festival continue to grow each year,” said a festival spokesperson.
