Warm wishes as Mayo librarian retires

MAYO County Library has bade a fond farewell to librarian Eleanor Freyne, who has hung up her hat as the welcoming face of Ballyhaunis Library.

Eleanor had some special visitors on her last day when the junior infants from Scoil Íosa popped by to wish her well and share some gifts and their thanks.

The school paid tribute to Eleanor for making Ballyhaunis Library such a special and welcoming place over the years. Pupils had enjoyed storytime with her and her love of books had inspired many children.

Eleanor's library colleagues also joined in wishing her the very best of health and happiness for her retirement ahead.

Many community tributes have also been paid to Eleanor for her advice, book suggestions and encouragement over the years.
